PesoLog ("the app") helps overseas Filipino workers and their families track remittances, requests, and conversations. This policy explains what information the app stores, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your data is yours — PesoLog stores what you enter so the app works, shares it only with the family members you explicitly connect with, and never sells it or shows ads.
What PesoLog never does
- PesoLog does not move money and never asks for bank, card, or remittance-provider credentials.
- PesoLog does not sell or rent your information to anyone.
- PesoLog does not show ads and does not share your data with advertisers.
Information you provide
- Account: your email address, a display name, and — only if you add them — a profile photo and profile details (about text, phone, location, occupation, birthday, Facebook profile).
- Records you create: recipients, logged and scheduled transfers, purposes, expenses, savings goals, reminders, money requests, and any photos you attach (for example receipts).
- Messages: chats and transfer comments you exchange with connected family members.
- Reports: if you report a message or a person, we receive the reason you chose, who you reported, and — when you report a specific message — a copy of that message, so the report still makes sense if it is later deleted. Reports are visible only to the PesoLog team; the person you reported is never told who reported them.
Information collected automatically
- Push notification tokens for your devices, so requests, reminders, and messages can reach you.
- Crash reports (via Firebase Crashlytics): technical details about the device and what the app was doing when a crash happened. These help us fix bugs and contain no financial records.
- Preferences such as language, default currency, and card order, stored on your device.
Where your data lives
PesoLog runs on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, and Hosting), which processes data on Google's infrastructure under Google's privacy and security terms. Exchange rates are fetched from a public rate service; the request contains only the currency pair — never anything about you.
Who can see what
- Your records are visible only to you — protected by per-user security rules.
- When you connect with a family member, they see what's shared between you: transfers where they are the recipient or sender, money requests, chats, and your profile (photo, name, about, occupation, location).
- Any signed-in PesoLog user who knows your exact email can see that an account exists for it (that's how family members find each other to connect) — nothing else is revealed until you accept a connection.
Emails and notifications
PesoLog sends push notifications and emails for things you'd want to know: connection requests, money requests, reminders, and replies. Email notifications come from PesoLog's own sending address and include one-tap action links secured with single-use tokens.
Your choices and rights
- Back up: export your data any time (Settings → Data → Back up my data).
- Correct: edit or delete individual records, your profile details, or your photo in the app.
- Disconnect: remove a connection at any time; sharing stops immediately.
- Delete everything: Settings → Data → Delete account permanently removes your account, profile, and all records you own. This is irreversible.
Children
PesoLog is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app's What's New notes will say so and this page will be updated with a new effective date.
